Blue Pen Lids [2013]

Found blue pen lids
Installation: one square metre

This work is an intuitive arrangement of pen lids based on how they ‘naturally’ stack and take the form of a spiral. Originally used at the end of writing an idea to contain or preserve ink, their collection signals the death of many pens (without which they are thought to be useless), yet the spiral ensures their eternity.

This work was first exhibited as part of Co-op: Second Year Printmedia Exhibition, Hardware Gallery, 2011. It was also exhibited as part of ‘Collection 4’, Articulate Project Space, Sydney, August 2nd-18th, 2013, Curated by Adrian Clement.
